My local Dealer has a 2012 sport...auto, softtop, only option is SAT radio....NO POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS. Sounds like locking each door will be a Pain in the rear and rolling up windows. Price $26,900....Those of you with no power windows and locks speak your mind.........

No power windows/doors here. I wanted a base model with minimal options. Not really needed when the doors should be off anyways. Less things to break down the road too.

I can still reach all 4 locks and windows from the driver's seat. But mine is a soft-top too so I haven't bothered to lock up much. One minor annoyance is the driver's side window crank pokes my leg; it's a little bit annoying during a long trip. But if I was gonna make the choice again, I would still do the same.
BTW,The only options I got on my JKU were 3:73 gears and limited slip rear, again by design. I figure a K.I.S.S. jeep will prove to be more reliable as time goes on.

Mine came with just AC and auto. Everything else is manual, including locks and window cranks. I personally LOVE that! Fewer things to break or fix. Fewer things that could go wrong. Mine's a DD and I have had no issues with convenience. The cabin is so small that if I need to lock the passenger door or lower its window, I simply..... lean over

I paid $17,900 for my 08 X 6spd with 30K on the clock last summer. It is a 2dr soft top only with no power options except for AC. Its all that I wanted at the time. Over a year later I kind of wish I had dual tops, but that's it.. However, I am thinking of installing cruise control at some point.. A few years from now when my JK is paid off, I may sell or trade both my vehicles (I have a car as well), for a brand spankin new 4dr fully loaded Rubicon!! :r ock:

I think we see a split between the people that grew up before electric locks/windows and A/C were standard on even base models and those like me that grew up with them only coming on the higher end cars. Growing up I don't remember our family cars having any of that until I was in high school. I didn't have A/C until my third car and power locks/windows until my fourth. Thought it was cool having all that...then it started breaking. LOL! So now I'm back to no power anything...but I'll keep the A/C...I am fond of that.
