It costs more for the car maker to make a manual roll down window these days than it does for power windows.
Stinks that the Wrangler has been pussified so much that it cannot handle water inside the passenger compartment...in some cases it cannot handle rain on the steering wheel. I wish they had a factory package that made the dash water resistant to some degree.

My 2011 JK Sport 2 door has only auto trans and AC.
I preferred to pay less and live with having to roll up the windows myself. Moreover, I rarely lock it because I don't want a thief cutting my soft top to get in.
I look at power stuff, on a Wrangler, as just more stuff to break.

I don't have power windows or locks. I didnt consider it a negative. But a positive. Less stuff to go wrong. I usually roll down the windows before I go anywhere.

My local Dealer has a 2012 sport...auto, softtop, only option is SAT radio....NO POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS. Sounds like locking each door will be a Pain in the rear and rolling up windows. Price $26,900....Those of you with no power windows and locks speak your mind.........

i searched long and hard for my 08 with no power anything. Feels more Jeep to me. I don't ever lock my doors anyway and I'm convinced thats why I've never had to replace a soft top.

I debated this for a while before purchasing mine and in the end (no I'm NOT lazy), but figured that I was paying a premium price for a vehicle. I wanted to get in, hit down on all four windows and be driving at the same time. Does saving a minute or two mean that much to me well YES I guess it does along with the fact that I didn't want to constantly have to remind my friends about locking their doors or asking myself if I did it after I walked into the movies or something. So for basic creature comforts I chose to get the options, which by now seem outdated since "apparently" Chrysler feels you need wheel controls and heated seats in the newer ones
