Storing a Hardtop Outside
Look for some advice... Recently pulled the hardtop off my unlimited and put up the soft. Only problem is my hardtop is now sitting in my dining room... I dont have a garage or anywhere suitable for indoor storage. Do yall think it would be fine under my deck sitting on a tarp and covered tightly? I feel like this is a reasonable solution i was just wondering if anyone else had any issues or problems that im overlooking.
Oh, and my backyard is very secure, no worries about people running off with that beast of a top.

Just a thought.....If your are thinking of placing the hardtop under your deck.....can you make a pully system under the deck using ratchet straps, 2x4's to hoist up off the ground? Even if you place some 2x4's down on the ground to level the top out and cover with a tarp you will be fine! Just be sure you add a bungee strap to the back window to stop it from opening up!.

I put a tarp on mine and ants went crazy living between the top and the tarp laying eggs and everything. Since then I just leave the top in the backyard not covered. I figure when it's on the Jeep it is outside and not covered.

Why don't you just leave it in the house under the dining room table it may get cold outside. The JK is part of the family ? LMAO Under the deck is perfectly fine just make sure you don't get strong winds under there one of the members here lost his hardtop when the wind wound up picking it up and hitting the ground and destroying it.

I used to tarp mine, but I sealed it completely with duct tape - no ants, skunks, birds, etc. When the time came to put it back on, it was as pristine as the day I took it off.
Then I got lazy....and ended up with dirt, mold, grime, spider webs, etc. etc.
Tarp + duct tape is best way to go.
