Your "spacers are evil" argument is STILL invalid
Never said they were "evil," moderator. Just unwise.

yes and running spacers with oe wheels is key for maintaining functionality when running bigger tires. Especially off road.

I've got a friend who just bought an 07 4Dr with 285's on stock Moab wheels, I drove it, and it rubs at full lock- you can see the marks (lack of paint) on the sway bar. Sorry, but you can't tell me what I felt and saw.

Obviously with ties that do not measure up (or in this case- out), your mileage may vary. These ties rubbed.

My 295/70/17 Trail Grapplers rubbed on stock Moabs before I had spacers. 1.5" SpiderTrax and I was good to go. I have had them on for 35K miles without issue. Check the torque every 6K when I rotate tires and have not had an issue.

Even with the spacer it still rubbed the airdam, so off it came. Now no issues!

You could run 255/80/17s as well......they only come in a KM2 so that may be a no go, but they appear to be a tall 33 and the same width of the 255/75/17s. These will be my next tires....

I'm running 285/75/17 on stock rims w/o wheels spacers and NO rubbing on sway bar or anywhere.

X2 on this. I suppose the spacer safety argument will be never ending. I just know my, as well as many others experience with them has been nothing but positive. One thing I will say though, is that there probably is more potential to issues with a spacer over a wheel with the correct backspacing due to the potential of improper installation and maintenance.

Correct. It's just one more thing to check torque on. Part of my decision to go with aftermarket 15" wheel, convenience. From an engineering standpoint, stresses are the same.

Just for the record, if you follow the directions, you are NOT supposed to check torque on the spacers if installed correctly.
U are supposed to use thread lock then torque to spec and leave them be.

Just saying
