spiderweb shade??

I bought one last week at a show I was at. I think it is a great idea and like it alot. Only problem is supposedly you can leave it on and put to factory top on over it, but it makes it hard as heck. I don't think I have it on wrong.

I have one. It's not designed to keep you dry just to give you some relief from the sun. It's great for riding around while the sun is shining. I dont think it will keep you dry too well to a down pour.

Also the gaps in the spyderweb bug me. Not sure why they don't make it wider. Id rather pay more money for something that works than less for something that kind of works.
My 2 cents

Hey, I leave mine on all the time and didn't have a problem, although if I remember right (it's been on for over a year) I think they use the 2 mounts for the top clamps. I didn't use them I flipped the spiderweb around (put the back in the front) and hooked mine to the rollbar on the sides, I also folded the back under so it's only on the top of the jeep and not down the back.

If you have a soft top and the Spiderweb Shade, you have to remove the two front side spiderballs in order to latch the top. Otherwise, everything else remains attached.

ultramesh
I had the Mopar sun bonnet for the 4dr. but switched to the Spidershade Ultra-mesh.
I love it and it let's some sun in and doesn't flap too bad at high speed.
I can leave it on when I put my hard top back on as well. This is probably the main reason I went with the spidershade.
Trailmesh is more flat and ultramesh has more texture but both look good and work well.

im about to pull trigger on this. so i can get some protection from random rain storms. (ive gotten stuck in 2 random storms, 2 days in a row. both left me with 3 inches of standing water inside!
only problem is, i do put kayaks on top, and just have them sit on the frame on top. i dont want it to like rip the spiderweb top.
also, which is more mesh like, i dont want one that will be exact replica of my soft top, i want something that still lets in some sun, so either trailmesh, or ultramesh. any tips?

I get mine this week, I'll let you know. I'm going to run my spidershade trailmesh with my new Safari Straps warrior cargo netting. Eventhough it will still rain here in seattle until August, I'm in denial!
For your kayaks, I saw a guy on this forum that bought some of those swimming pool foam "noodles" and installed them between the kayaks and the roll bar at front, middle, and rear, then strapped them down snug. Looked pretty sharp.
Maybe you can find some red 'noodles' to go with your black & red theme
