i don't know why, but i'm suddenly obsessed with trading my 2008 X 2 door for an unlimited. i've done a good amount of work on my 2 door(which i love/lust). it'll be paid off in a little mor than a year. if i get a 4 door, i'll need to do tires, lift, exhaust, bumpers, etc. i LOVE MY LITTLE 2 door..

but help-----i keep looking at 4 doors and the idea of taking the family on a trip with my 3 year old in the back thinking....

i see some good deals on used jeeps in the recycle section..already built, not much to re-modify..

I say keep the 2dr and pay it off... keep it..... cherish it .....

I had a two door, no mods, just stock to help me get around when I lived in Fairbanks AK. About two months after buying it I wanted a 4 door, just like you, for the family. Now I ordered my 4 door black rubicon and it should be here mid next month. Did you enjoy moding your Jeep? Was the process as much fun as the payoff? If so, start over. My two boys (7 and 3) love jeeping with me and I love showing them all I know about Jeeps (very little unfortunately). Just my . Best of luck.

Heck, the back seat's hardly in there most of the time.

 

I love my two door, but when it involves the wife, two kids then I wish for a four door. Otherwise its just me and its perfect. The kids dont mind it too much except when we go camping, then its pretty tight. One day a tent trailer will help with this. Good luck on whatever you decide!

 

Dump it Get a 4door you wont regreat it.

 

The four door makes you smarter, stronger, and a sexual tiger. Just a warning.

Do it. Jump. I know where you can get a 2007 4 Door for about $25,000 with 37,000 miles on it.. LOL HMMM then I can get my Mango Tango.
Serously get the four door I'll help you mod it out then we can take a couple of family camping trips and my wife will have someone to hang with and complain about not having a place to go to the bathroom at Raush. LOL. Maybe I'll sell the 01 tj and get the 17 year old yours.

 

PS trade the new one in and get the wife the 4 door
