Soft top down but laying funny.
What's up party people? Happy Saturday. I had an 09 Sahara that had a soft top and when I took it down it laid flat against the jeep. Got a new dual top jeep. Installed the soft top. Took it down for the first time yesterday and it seems to be laying very weird.
Any suggestions? Gonna take it to the dealer and ask too if I can't figure it out.
Thanks for the help.

Looks like you didn't fold it right when you put it down. The part over the front and read seats has to fold back into a "w" and the two rear pieces that go down by your back door should fold on top before putting down. Get on YouTube and search how to take it down.

Agreed. If the fabric and back sail panels aren't tucked properly as it's going down, it won't fold as flat.
Pull it back up and work it down slower to make sure each level is tucked in correctly.

This is a 2014 model? If 2014, I have one too (JKU) and it lays just like that. I have looked at a lot if pics and thought it was weird how it didn't fold down better. Also compared to the 2013 JK I traded in, it sits high like yours. What I noticed is where your hinge is there is a piece of plastic that I think is a new design that prevent it from folding better. Take a look and see if yours is like this. My hypothesis is this prevents the soft material from getting pinched. But my suggestion is skip the dealer visit. I think it's normal.

I spent 2 hours the first time trying to get mine to lay neat and smooth with no luck and it was driving me crazy having it look like a giant mess so I picked up the Mopar soft top boot. Works great, keeps the soft top all tucked up neat and clean and makes the rear door much easier to use when the top is down.

It's the new spring assist mechanism that does it. I have the same issue, my 08 laid down fairly flat, my 2013 looks like everyone else's.

They 2013-2014 do sit higher so if you get a soft top boot make sure it's for the new style. I just bought the smittybilt one but found out they didn't change it for the new style so it doesn't fit. Even though they said it's for a 2013
