Default Soft replacement for front freedom panels?

If this exists, I haven' t been able to find it.

I'm looking for a soft top like the Mopar Sun Bonnet, but that only goes over the holes left by the front Freedom Top panels.

In other words, I have the panels out most of the time. Rather than carrying the giant panels around and taking up all my cargo space, I'm wondering if someone sells a soft bonnet that I can carry instead. Something that will cover the opening left by the Freedom Panels in the event I encounter rain or weather and don't have the Freedom Panels in the Jeep. Doesn't have to be super tight or durable, just enough to make it home.

Does this sort of thing exist?

I hope I'm making sense. This is harder to explain than I would have anticipated.

Thanks in advance.

great idea but i have never seen it or heard of it. You could get a header bar from bestop and a bonnet and have an upholstery shop modify it to fit. again great idea.

you should just get this, it stores in bag and clips to botttom of back seat and then has strap that wraps around headrests, keeping it standing up against the back of seat.

Hmmm. You could do 3 hooks at the windshield header attachment points, 2 hooks that went in the holes where the big plastic screw thingies hold the Freedom panels in place, and two velcro straps on each of the driver and passenger side. It wouldn't be completely water tight, but it would allow limited range if you needed to sneak home or otherwise get indoors.

I may pay a visit to a local auto upholstery shop and see what something like this would cost. If it ain't too bad, maybe we can do a group buy.

I agree. Mine works great and its really not a big deal. Especially, since I never use the two screw in deals on the back anymore. They're useless as far as I can tell. Unless of course, you only have the two front panels in with the top off...

A little off topic, but I had the problem the other way. The dog rides in the back seat and was getting baked when I'm riding around with the Freedom Panels on OR off. This was my first go at sewing, but it came out OK. No flapping with the panels on or off at 65 MPH. The dog doesn't care as long as he's in the Jeep!

I'm thinking this might appeal to anyone with kids or dogs.

Come up with a design and patent it.
