Default So I bought a Jeep tonight...just not a JK

I went out shopping this evening to look at jeeps and came across a gem I couldn't refuse. I was looking at JK's, but came across an 05 LJ Rubicon Unlimited Sahara Edition. For those not familiar with them, Jeep only released 1000 of these in 2005 as a promotional to the movie Sahara. Each one is numbered and has nearly every possible option available to the TJ/LJ in it. The dealership let me steal it for close to $21k and it has never seen off-road and in excellent shape. I'll try to take some pics of it this week to post.

My days on the site are probably numbered now as an active poster, but I will check in from time to time. If Jeep decides to offer a hemi in the JK, I may seriously look at picking one up then.

Just as an added laugh, when I test drove the vehicle, the sales man just tossed my wife and I the keys and said see you in a little bit. A little bit turned into 45 minutes and a tow truck having to pull the LJ out of the mud 2-3 miles from the dealership.

We've had a lot of snow and ice lately. I went to turn around in a parking lot and with the wide turn made, I figured I'd just cut a corner through some grass. Well the grass was on top of very loose mud. The LJ sunk 8-10 inches in seconds. I tried to get out and just dug myself deeper. Sales manager picked up the $200 tow bill to pull it out and offered to professionally detail it again if I bought it right then. I couldn't refuse that! Now I have my first stuck story and I didn't even own the vehicle yet. I don't think pissed quite covers what my wife was/is at me. I now have a great example for her as to why I need a winch and bumpers.

Default That package was part of the movie "Sahara"

That was a special edition package for the movie "Sahara", chrome grille, tan color. I like the color combination on it. (Note the movie's logo, not the Jeep Sahara logo on the side)

Sounds like a great deal. I used to belong to the "Rubicon Owners Index" very much like this site. Check it out.
