Default smittybilt xrc8 winch

I'm getting this winch for xmas and was wondering if anyone has it or has heard anything about it. And how hard is it to hook up to the battery?

i've seem the XRC8 in action before where a TJ was high centered on some big rocks and it worked like a champ. Its not as fast as other winches but it will get the job done.
Also seen alot of good reviews on the forum about it too and it seems reliable
Seems like a great winch for the price. i plan on getting the same one eventually

I have one and love it. Can't beat it for the price!

As for the install it's extremely easy, the directions were great. Enjoy your gift.

If you dont have one, you may want to invest in a winch cover especially with all the salt/sand thats on the ground when it snows

I have the XRC8 as well. For me, it is a good winch for the price. I've got mine with the synthetic rope as I wanted to cut down on the weight. The install was very easy, I found the directions to be fairly clear. You should be able to get it installed and pulling by the time Santa is done his rounds. Also, I do agree if you're in the North with salt, etc. on the roads, a cover is a must.

i also have it and install couldnt be any easier. u dont even need instructions cuz each terminal is labeled and the wire that goes to them are labeled. a goes to a b goes to b and so on. just make sure u install all the wires to the terminals on the winch before u bolt the winch down and remember the ground terminal has 2 wires that go to it
