Smittybilt G.E.A.R. Trail Shade - Anyone use it?
In need of something easier to carry and use than a bulky beach umbrella when we get off the pavement.. My wife is pretty fair skinned..
The Smittybilt G.E.A.R. Trail Shade seems easy enough, and isn't too expensive. Not sure I would want to attach it to the spare, but that's easy enough to get around..
Any thoughts or feedback?

as a general rule of thumb i stay away from all g.e.a.r. poducts as they dont really last long term. besides, with about $20 worth of supplies from home depot you can make one up yourself and run it under what ever top you have now. just put the top down, fold it out and connect the legs. theres a write up on here somewhere. a buddy of mine actually made one with an american flag that looked pretty good. it wont affect anything while you put the tops up or down.

For something similar, but better quality, look for a lightweight backpacking tarp made of Silcone Nylon.
The other option I use is I aquired a British "basha" last time i was deployed and it works perfectly. plenty of tiedown options.
