This past weekend, I had the chance to drive up the steepest hill I've ever done in any 4x4. There was more than enough power to get to the top. I can't imagine needing any more and the Jeep certainly isn't underpowered for what it is designed to do.

My wife is calling my beloved JK "Hi Ho Silver" as she seriously struggles ( The JK) on anything more than slightly moderate inclines on the highway. The engine is seriously not lively. Off road she's just fine and for that I don't need any more power but on-road the JK's lack of power is very annoying. If I had realized this before taking delivery I would definitely have asked AEV to put a Hemi in there! I guess this is still an option or a supercharger of course. Any other ideas? I already have 35" tires with 4.88 R&P gear ratio with auto gearbox.

I didn't buy my JK for speed or good MPG. That being said, I have a 6 speed and it moves pretty nicely. I have never bought an auto 4 or 6 cyl. Just my opinion they are sluggish (test drove one).

The amc 6
Back in the olden days, The amc 6 was used in Americans, Gremlins ,Pacers for god's sake. Continuous upgrades and the first thing you know, the good old AMC 6 belongs in a SHRINE. And I know the 232,258 was not a 4.0, but it was nothing but an updated economy car motor. Most motors are ho-hum until they are accidently put into a platform that makes them SHINE. I have yet to talk to a Jeep mechanic that does not PRAISE this ''minivan motor''. Tough as hell, they do virtually no work on them...
