slashed window and dented shi*tty bumper
Well, besides my squeeky manual transmission that jeep cant fix i love my jk, LOVE IT, and today was a bad day for it, I live in NYC and people just love to hit cars when they park, anyways, i come out of a store and my front plastic crappy bumper is dented, like someone backed into it, but man what a POS, it got alot of white stress marks and a big intent, ok i got mad but i thought about "hey good exscuse to get something nice and metal", ok it ruined half my day but i got over it and went to a bbq, when i left the bbq the drivers side back softtop window was slashed open, nothing stolen because i keep nothing in it, all i see is a big slash and the assholes head print on my drivers side window, guess he was looking inside, anyways, on ebay the cheapest i can see a set of tinted softtop windows is like 300$, my bumper it not too bad but annoys me, i have no idea what they cost, my insurance deductable is 500, so for 500 i can get a new window and bumper, or i can not file claim and buy a nice bumper and window set but it will cost me alot more, also, the fact that gieco does not consider the window "glass" what the hell do i have glass coverage for, the front window only??? sorry if im flying around topics but i waited so long for my truck and i just am, i dunno, disgusted, thanks to anyone who read all this and any advice would be great, thanks

Sounds like a really Bad day. Sorry to hear it.
This is all too common with soft tops, unfortunately. The slime crooks find it easier to slash and then look in, so it doesn't matter that there's nothing to steal. This is why I am going to get the Hard Top JK. I have a CJ7 that only has the bikini top so no need to damage anything.

Leave the windows open or...
keep the top down.
I know it sounds ridiculous but if there is nothing in your Jeep - why not just leave it open - that way they won't slash it.
DO NOT take this to suggest this is in any way your fault - there are just too many a$$holes out there and if you're going to enjoy your Jeep - take off the doors - or leave the windows open - or the top down - and alarm on!
Personally I'd love to see a stun gun or taser hooked into a security system for these just to fry these idiots but until something like that comes about - leave it wide open and enjoy the breeze.
Try some duct tape over the slash and blame it on a big branch while you were wheeling - same with the bumper!
The other night at the field a baseball nailed mine and when I finally decided to go see just how bad it was - all I kept thinking about was what kind of battle scar it would have - not whether I'd fix it (and I have pretty good insurance).
The worst part is other than a minuscule area where the ball threads can be noticed - it is less than the issues that came with my Jeep right off the truck. Wasn't sure if I should be bummed that nothing happened - or glad - or mystified how such thin flimsy metal could have possibly sustained a hit and still be intact!
