SIRIUS Satellite Radio (Canada), outrageous prices !!!
My 1 year free SIRIUS subscription just expired, as expected.
I really liked one station, BPM! so... I gave SIRIUS a call hoping to renew my subscription...
BUT!!!
There are no "channel packages" like cables do, Rock or Electro for example,
if you want to listen to your favored channel, you have to get all the stations! and their prices are outrageous!!!
they asked:
187$ for 1 year
365$ for 2 years
543$ for 3 years
AND there is NO MORE "life time subscription"...
Well, I told them: "I ain't going to pay that much money for "500 stations" that I don't listen!!! GOODBYE!!!"
No wonder that people are hacking their Satellite Radio systems!
Anyone know a good hacker in Winnipeg that can "Fix" my SIRIUS system...?

Here's a secret.
Listen, Don't renew. After about 4 weeks of no subscription, they will contact you to negotiate a new subscription rate.
I pay $5 per month ($56 a year) for my subscription doing this. I've done it this way for 3 years now.
I really wanted to sign a 3-year deal for $5 a month but they wouldn't do it (I have a 5-year on one of my XM accounts and a 4-year on my other XM account). I come up for renewal again in September and will do this approach again!
SHHHH - don't tell anyone about this approach. We need others to pay full price so they can subsidize us.
Oh, XM and Sirius don't allow combined billing currently, which is another pet-peeve I have.

Your pricing is not that far off the US price. It's about $155 a year for US. Everything in American Top Hat cost more.
I might have to try negotiating a better price when mine runs out.
