essentially, yes. the unit is serialized, and registered-you just re-register in your name and vitals.-pay for service, and viola!-its that easy.-my call to them lasted 5 min. and 3 of it was waiting until my radio recognized the signal again. easy peasy.

It was for me, but it seems others have problems-I of course bypassed the automated deal, and waited to be directed to bangladesh

If the service contract is active wait until it expires, but keep your eye out for good deals because they frequently offer incentives for renewals.

I got lucky enought that the dealership never deactived the trial mode when I bought it. When I called to re-new they said I still had my free year
