The $77 deal is very real. $88 with the royalty fee, $7 a month is a bargain. If the rep refuses, ask to speak to retentions or call back.

wow, you guys are getting some pretty good deals down south. Even with the currency exchange, it is way cheaper for you guys. A year subscription up here is $160 bucks! I managed to get a deal for my second year because I told them I was going to cancel, so they gave me 50%, which would make more sense.

But with the exchange right now, 77 bucks american would be only 80 canadian! Damn!!!

Okay, so my subscription was due to run out next week and I saw this thread just now. I called sirius and the first rep said she couldn't offer me anything other than the regular renewal which with the fees was $195 for 1 year. I said no thanks.

I immediately called back and told a new rep I wanted to pay $77 dollars for the year, she had to transfer me to another dept. She disconnected me.

I called back a third time, new rep, I told her I wanted to pay $77 for a year and she laughed at me. She says my account didn't have any "rebates" and I was only eligible for the regular rate. I told her others got a year for $77 and I wanted that deal. She laughs at me again , so I firmly asked to speak to someone else. She put me on hold and came back to say I could get a year of sirius for the $77 +fees ($85) for the year.

It is available but you have to be persistent.

Or you can get a lifetime subscription for something like 400 bucks.

THIS IS CRAZY!!!-- I JUST-I MEAN JUST!- 3 SECONDS AGO, HUNG UP MY PHONE W/SIRIUS AND ALSO GOT THE $88 DEAL!--this site cracks me up sometimes. I believe it has supernatural powers that control us all-$88 bucks is good for 1 yr. at which point you renew w/them. I suppose you could talk to customer retention if they try to chop your head off with their "regular" price. they dont want to lose business either.-FOR THE RECORD: I didnt have to ask for the deal-it was the first thing out of their mouth!

How does it work if I was to buy a Sirius radio off someone here on the site, does the radio have a serial number you give Sirius to initialize the service for the new owner?
