I wrote this in another tread. But no one commented on it.

This regards the dents that unfortunately seem to be an all too common result of the unstrapped doors swinging open and the mirrors hitting the side of the hood.

I'm beginning to think that they should have put the rubber bumpers on the hood for the windshield on each sides at those spots. More people take off their doors than will ever take down their windshield.

Hey! How is that for a mod? Side nipples along with hood nipples.

First dent the other side with its mirror. Use the dents to center a drill. Drill the same size hole the hood has for it's nipples. Use a little touch up paint to cover the bare metal and install new windhield bumpers on each side.

Would that look bad? Is this a stupid idea?

Any comments?

The metal would still likely bend even with the side nipples.


I prefer frontal nipples, myself. However, God should have put one right in the middle of womens' backs. They'd be better dance partners.

 

My mirrors have been relocated so I don't have the dent problem.

Redneck, with all of the wonders of modern science and plastic surgery I'm sure someone can perform that mod.

Have to agree with that! But as redneck says, depending on the size of the nipple and how fast the door was swingin, it might still push in- then you got a nipple in a dimple...

i'm with redneckjeep. even w/the nipple there, the door hitting it would still cause the sheet metal to dent. just in a larger diameter now that you've given it something further out to hit and not a dimple cuz the base of that nipple is about what, 2"?
