Shrockworks Rocks!!!!

Outstanding! I ordered a rear bumper, tire carrier and all the accessories at EJS (early April). I figured I'd be quite happy if I get it by the end of the year--I don't even plan to contact them until Christmas is near. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I'd be elated to receive it within the next few weeks!

Yeah, I don't like that practice, either. However, basically what you're saying is that if a person wants to order a custom part for their car or Jeep, or furnishing for their house, or whatever that might take months to deliver, it's illegal for the company they're doing business with to take a deposit. That's silly and probably outright incorrect. My biggest worry with the practice is that if something were to happen to Shrockworks that put them out of business--let your imagination for misfortune run wild here--I'm not certain that I could get a refund from the charge card company after 90 days. I might just become another creditor standing in line at bankruptcy court for pennies on the dollar.
As for the time for the refund: Several folks here on JK-Forum have canceled their orders with Shrockworks after waiting what they considered too long (i.e.--they didn't pay attention to the frequent warnings here on JK-Forum!), yet I don't remember anyone commenting that they had to wait an excessive time for the refund to appear on their credit card.

You apparently can't read very well. I never said they can't take a deposit, but charging full price to a card and shipping six months later is definitely likely to be against the card companies' merchant agreements (and I said illegal in SOME PLACES from what I've read - though I'm not sure WHERE). This is not surprising since you usually have 60 days to do a chargeback if something goes wrong and the merchant refuses to fix it. In light of these policies, a company can't charge you, get paid by the card company, and wait six months to send your stuff - if you can't figure out why, I won't bother explaining it. This is why deposits exist.
A deposit is a GREAT solution, I'd totally be willing to pay a 15%/20% deposit. It's not like Shrock couldn't sell a bumper or some sliders even in the rare instance someone cancelled, I DOUBT someone out there wouldn't buy it up since they aren't THAT customized. With the HUGE backlog I'm sure it'd immediately sell to someone else.
Furthermore, if Shrockworks is so willing to easily refund someone who cancels, then why do they feel the need to charge upfront? Why not just charge at shipping then? My guess - they're floating peoples' money, using it instead of their own to finance the business. And yes, I do think that's not a good practice, because as someone already pointed out, if 60 days go by and you're still waiting, and they go bust for whatever reason, YOU are at risk and not the company - see the difference??
Now stop putting words in my mouth. Custom furniture? Seriously? And I said it's illegal to take a deposit? Read more carefully next time, champ.

I am assuming those are front bumpers. Those are not taking as long. It is the rear bumper with tire carrier that has the extremely long wait time. I have been waiting 9 months.
Front bumpers have delivered much fast than the rear with tire carrier.

I just cancelled my front mid and rear full width tire carrier semi gloss form SLC yesterday. It was sitting there ready to ship but I already have a Exp 1 rear enroute. If anyone wants to jump on it if its still available.
