Default Should I trade in my 2013 jk sport for a 2014 jku Rubicon?

I'm in a bit of a pickle here... I bought my 2013 with bad credit and a high interest rate. The plan was to refinance after 13 payments on time and get the better interest rate. Now after a little over a year and several trips to offroad parks and kids, I realized there is not enough room to brings supplies and want a 4dr. Might as well make it a Rubi while your at it right??? My credit score is up nearly 200 points since the jeep purchase. I will probably lose 4-5 grand trading it in. So... What do you think? Worst case scenario in go with a 4 dr sport.

Why not a used 2013 4-door? It would save you a few thousand. I have a 2010 2dr and when I find the right 4dr hopefully used that's the route I'm going. I've seen a handful of "used" 13's out there.

That may be an option, but the used ones I have seen are priced like they are brand new! I built a Rubi online with the options I want for 39,000. And I like the new Granite color too.

I'd 2nd looking for a slightly used 12 or 13. I only bought new, as I wanted the new engine.

I think you should way until you won't lose as much in trade-in....another 2 years or so. Look at a Sport.

Simple do the math and see what your payments are on a new one compared to the one you have if it's the same or better go for it. If it's higher make sure you can swing it you don't want to go backwards on your credit.

Horrible, horrible, horrible idea. You made your bed, now sleep in it. Poor credit, high interest rate, possible negative equity, and then choosing to start all over again in a brand new Jeep, just because you can't bring enough "junk" with you on your trips? You're going to give Suzie Orman a stroke.

Seriously. Keep your existing Jeep, refi it on a low rate, pay it off, and drive it until the wheels fall off. If space is such an issue, re-evaluate what you're bringing with you, buy a rack, or tow a trailer.

4dr JKU is the way to go when you have a family. But taking a huge loss and throwing that loss on top a $39K JKUR is ?. Take some time and look at roof racks and over the tire type racks to put your outing gear on. That was the solution many of us had to do in years past and it worked. It is a heck of a lot cheaper and will get you through until the next body style change coming in a few years.
