I am currently in an 08 JKUR with a lot of upgrades and have spotted a stock jkur 2012 that would cost about an additional $5-7k
difference.
I would be selling the loaded up 08 and starting over with the 2012
Question is....is the new dash and Penstar really worth it or should I spend the coin on a supercharger and add a few more upgrades?
I am just so sick of the dog 3.8.....both in mpg and power...
Hemi cost is out of the question and I don't have time to do it myself.
Really want a honest opinion on the penstar.....

I've owned two 08s and two 12s. The 12 brings the happy back to driving a Jeep, even on 37s.
Do it if you're ready to start over. It gets expensive buying all those parts again.

I have really enjoyed my 2013. The power is nice and if your not going to upgrade the motor then I say go for it. Have you by chance looked onto a LSX swap? Also lets see some pics of your Jeep you have now.

I have a 2012. The engine/transmission difference is remarkable. I suggest you drive them back to back to see if it is enough of a difference to warrant the expense.

I love my 2012. I know we're not talking about race cars here, but 0-60 in 7.5-8 sec vs 10-11 is a pretty significant difference for on road performance. The dash I could care less about, but I'm running 35's on 3.21's for now still and can get 15-17 mpg if I drive nice. Go drive one and see for yourself!!

Not worth it to me. As a matter of fact I think the interior on the newer jeeps is a bit much for my taste. I like the simplicity and plastic dash of my 09. Makes for easy cleaning and suits the exterior appearance. So justifying 5-7 grand for a little more power is flat out dumb if you ask me
