Yup, UPS and FedEx are total rip offs with over the border shipping...they like to refer to their extortion as 'brokerage' fees
Shipping USPS is generally MUCH better

For tires, try Tirerack. I bought mine online and the final price quoted was with all fees/taxes/tarrifs included to Canada via UPS. I didn't have to pay anything additional upon arrival.

Default Tires to BC

I had Discount Tire give me a quote for 37/12.5/17 Goodyear MTR/Kev mounted and balanced on rims with lugnuts delivered to my door all fees paid cheaper than I could get just the tires anywhere in BC. Now I'm watching the exchange rate again.

Same deal @ Tirerack! I paid half of what the dealer (or anyone else for that matter) was quoting me for 5 KM's!

Also, ONE tax GST

Also, try 1010tires they have some decent Canadian prices on tires or another sponsor on this forum National4wd sells tires and rims.

I can't remember exactly what the price per rim was, I bought them as a package deal and haggled with them a bit (they had a booth at a car show). In total I paid just over $2000 cdn for five procomp series 8179 16" x 10" rims and five 35x12.5x16 procomp mt's.

I looked at getting 5 Duratracs from Tire Rack the total cost would have been just over $1600 CDN, I can get them locally for like $1400 mounted, installed, balanced etc etc. Normally it doesnt pay for us up north to order anything from the U.S unless you get a smoking deal on it.
