Default Secure Storage?

I'm looking at the FlexaTrunk for the JK Wrangler in the Quadratec catalog, page 69 of the 2008 Autumn edition. I'm trying to get secure storage for the back area of the 4-dr JK and haven't really seen much that I like.

Has anyone had any experience with this and what was your solution? I have the soft top and would like to be able to take it down and still not have everything in the vehicle just sitting out visible.

How much space are you looking for, Breaktrack? I ask, because if it's not too much, maybe Woods' Storage Tub Enlargement Kit will do the trick. You will need to relocate your muffler before doing this mod, though.

Hmmm, interesting option, not sure I want to relocate the muffler though...lol.

The storage option I listed is one that can be easily removed if not needed, but I didn't know if anyone had any experience with it, or if it was not worth the cost. I need to be able to store things in the back when they are needed, and if not needed, utylize the space.

Thanks,

Mac

personally, I would go with Woods' kit.. only because I too often put big things in the back area and that wouldnt be possible with the flexatrunk.

Yeah, I see what you mean, but the flexatrunk can be taken down or put up depending on what you want. So, the versatility is what I'm looking for. I don't always carry stuff in the jeep anyway, but if I don't have the top on it I'd like some more secure storage areas.

So I'm trying to see if anyone has one yet, and what they think of it.

Thanks,

Mac

I chose the Instatrunk over the flex mainly on cost but what I liked about the flex is you can access items from the top. When I have my bike rack mounted, the gate won't open far enough to access items inside the instatrunk.

There's another spin on the problem, thanks for the link. So far though, the flexatrunk looks like the solution to my problems, I'm not much for building stuff, but you certainly did a great job on yours.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, it appears the flexatrunk is the way I'm going to go. I had hoped others might have tried it out and had some kind of review of it.

Thanks,
