Default Seat cover question

Is there a difference in the seats from 07-15? My seats are starting to look like they are in an 8 year old Jeep and a few seams are starting to fray. I came across complete replacement upholstery at a great price, but it is from a '14 so rather than waste the money I decided to look around and some places differentiate based on years and others don't. I'm guessing someone here knows the answer. Thanks in advance.

The entire interior went through a major redesign in '11. Which doesn't mean new seats won't fit in old Jeeps. But you may or may not like how it looks. Have you considered seat covers? There are also aftermarket seats out there.

It is just the factory upholstery, not the whole seat. I was originally looking for seat covers when I ran across the ones in question. The only issue I have with seat covers is finding some that fit well and aren't neoprene. I had neoprene in my last one and hated how hot they always were, of course that was in Hawaii so maybe neoprene aren't as bad other places. Thanks for the info.

You may want to take a good look at Trek Armor seat covers then.

2011 the interior was changed.
2013 the seats changed once again.

I have neoprene and wouldn't do again. As you write, they are hot. They are also not particularly durable. I have a friend who has the Escape Gear covers, and they are very nice. Not cheap, however ...

Edit: Here's a link direct to the manufacturer. You may be able to order direct from them (in South Africa) and save quite a bit ...

I bought some of the covering leatherette seat covers and have been very happy with them. They were $250 front and rear from qtec and have been very durable.

Starting in 2013, the stock seats have more padding in them. I have Trek Armor seat covers and the velcro does not totally line up, leaving a good part of it exposed. I'm thinking that is because of the extra padding and no seat cover redesign from Trek Armor. So if you get new upholstery designed for pre-2013 seats. it may be very tight and possibly not even fit. That is just my experience though.
