There's nothing wrong with the painted fenders either if that's what your into. They actually look pretty good on the new models with the matching hard top. I especially like the Sahara tan model....gives it kind of a military look about it with the dark stock rims. I just like the fact that on my Rubicon with the plastic flares there is less actual paint to get scratched, chipped, hail damaged, etc....
At least when Chrysler came out with the 4dr JKU they kept up with the Jeep's rugged image and it still looks like an actual Jeep. Look what happened to the FJ....

I just think it's fun to poke at the guy that poked at the hornets nest. Life's too short to be offended by such things. If people are really offended by what you said then they need to get their priorities sorted and you shouldn't worry about it. This all has been interesting to read though, thank you for stirring,.....errr I mean starting it.

To be honest the responses just cracked me up! Haven't laughed so hard in a long time Boy, people just Hate being called Mall-Crawlers
I wonder what would happen with a thread called "JK Sport = broke ass college kids" or "Rubicons = rich posers"??? (someone else can start that, I'm all flamed out )

I might have unintentionally lit a fuse with this thread but This was Exactly what I was trying to say - the JKU and Sahara were designed to be solid to the masses. To have mass market appeal. While I'm happy as a clam that our beloved brand is profitable because of this, I'm a little irate with the not-quite-Jeeper crowd it pulled in. Everyone on this forum are excluded - just had to throw it in there judging from the highly defensive and emotional natures of the replies
