Default Sahara Wrangler ST Tire Performance

So how well will the stock Sahara tires perform off road? My buddy and I were thinking about going to Rausch Creek tomorrow, but I was leery of taking my JKU on the trails b/c of these tires.

I have taken mine off road three different times now with my stock tires and on some pretty tough trails last weekend on a night run. No problems at all. And they look better dirty and muddy when your done!

That give me some hope. Did you air down your tires at all?

They're doing great sitting in my side yard right now.
They're decent for the street but off road they're a gamble. When my Jeep was new I had just driven it off the lot, I come across some light trails. I drive maybe 200 feet down this trail and then do a u-turn in some light brush then head back. When I get to where I'm going I find I have a tiny little twig through the side wall. A brand new tire with 26 miles on it and it was ruined.

I had a lot of sidewall damage to mine on just a few trips, one even got cut right through while aired down. Mainly the rubber on the sides is very thin, so even small items exposed the white underlining the rubber. I quickly replaced them after about 5000 miles with MT's and no issues since.

I did the 101 up there in April and mine did just fine. We aired down halfway through to 15. You'll be fine, just don't go too crazy.

Aww man you're tempting me, I love that trail too. But I know my luck with tires and I'm probably best off waiting till I get a set of off road tires.ii it's gonna be a long 1 - 2 months

I did not but I learned that next time I will. Everything held up extremely well, no issues. I do have the Goodyear Wranglers on mine though not the Bridestone.

Here a a few pics of what I put my stock tires on. These are the milder trails we ran. We did plenty harder ones but it was night so I could not get good pics.
