Sahara Side Rails Anyone?

Sahara Side Rails Anyone?
Is it just me or would the Sahara side steps look good on a lifted Rubicon? I think they would go with the black fender flairs better than they go with the painted versions on the Sahara. I like the rock rails and all, but my daughter and wife are having trouble getting in at stock hight, much less when I lift it 3" and put 35's on it (got the lift ordered, undecided on the wheel and tire combo). I've told them to suck it up for now, but I'll have to do something in the near future. I don't like the other rails available from Jeep in their brochure, just the stock versions on the Sahara. On a side note, do you think they would offer enough protection for the body? I know I would lose a little bit of ground clearance, but it beats riding alone,....if you know what I mean.

That is one of the reasons why I ended up going with the Sahara. We test drove a Rubicon 4 door and they let us put my daughters child seat in the center. I couldn't even lift her up in the rubicon, it was just too high and far to the center without any steps.
As for the steps offering any protection, I would say no. They only bolt on in 3 places and I don't think there is any way if you laid them on a rock they wouldn't crumple your rockers. The one thing I was trying to figure out tho is if they will also bolt on with the Rubicon rock rails installed but I doubt it.
I think if you wait a bit the aftermarket people like Jeeperman will have their rock railz available. I have them on my TJ and they are very strong and offer a tube step to be able to get into the Jeep. Hopefully they will be announced right after SEMA.
