This is Sacrilegious!!
Okay, maybe I'm totally out of the loop here and this is old news to the rest of you, but, did you know that Jeep will be making a 2WD only version of the Jeep JK Unlimited X and Sahara? WTF is up with that - seriously, this is completely sacrilegious in my book.
So where did I get this info you might ask:
Kelly Blue Book
:rolleyes2:

It just ain't right!! What are they thinking? If I wanted a 2wd Jeep I would by an Escape and not a Jeep.
By the way WOL which way are you leaning 2dr, or 4dr? I am not sure about the 4dr model yet, maybe when I start seeing some around...

No joke, this is absolutely ridiculous. Now, I know they have been doing this with Cherokees, Grands and Libbys but seriously, Wranglers?!! As I said before - sacrilegious!!
As far as which way I'm leaning goes, I have to tell you, I have seen about half a dozen JK Unlimiteds and to be completely honest... they look really good and I like them a lot. But, looks ain't everything and the one thing I just couldn't get past is how incredibly long and big these thing are and if you're anything like me, function is more important than form. So, my current leaning is for the 2-Door.

DC has done a lot of things I personally wouldn't do to the Jeeps if I controlled their manufacturing...but what do I know, I still bought one...no two of the DC produced Jeeps. Granted one has been stripped out and now has a GM drivetrain and CJ dashboard conversion. Whats my opinion of the 2WD Wrangler? GO FOR IT. DC has been gearing the Wranglers toward on-road drivers, soccer moms and family men for YEARS now. They finally offer a 2WD, 4door Jeep with rag top and doors off fun and its now sacriligeous? Excuse me, but a four-wheel independent unibody piece of crap would be sacriligeous. We still have a our 4WD drive models, our straight axles, granted we will pay a little more for them but I sure as heck don't want to see ALL jeeps go the way of the "new age" "up-to-date" vehicles. So if DC wants to make some 2WD models to sell to people who would never even use the 4WD anyway, more power to them. Less weight, better gas mileage and its plastic (and a little metal) saved in not putting a T-case, front driveshaft ect. in there. Besides when I see an Unlimited with 20"s or higher on it I won't be nearly as pissed cause I'll be hoping its a 2WD...course I still see Z71's with 20"s on them... its 4wd people, lets see more rubber than we do "bling"... If you want that go buy a Hummer...
Not posting this to offend anyone. I don't personally care for the four door but I'm not knockin' it either. I got my 4wd, I got my 2 door. And everybody else can get what they want to.

Yes, that was me back late last summer and what can I say, it was a bit of a shock to me to hear Jeep was going to be making a 2WD Wrangler. But, I'm over it now and so far as I'm concerned, a Jeeper is a Jeeper and that's it

WOW! I guess 2wd isn't so bad afterall! You pay less, can add a 60 in the front and rear, a transfer case, a hemi and you are all good!
