I was thinking the same (except I prefer gunmetal)... the problem is that if you try to take the door-mounted hinges off, the surrounding paint is a goner!

Unless your dealer does it on their own dime, I doubt warranty will cover it. The rust through warranty is against body panel perforation. These are just stone chips.
If you want something more durable on them, get them coated with a clear polyurethane, powedercoat, line-x, or something that will absorb or withstand the stone chips better.
