Check out the Wild Boar site. Their roof rack has multiply accessories including a pop up tent with a ladder for access. Very nice set-up.

Also, I think this thread should be moved to a different area of the forum...

The roof tops are nice, but not very big and take up a lot of space considering I can get a small dome tent about the same size that I can fit under my back seat. The roof top tents were designed for African Safari's to give tourists a false sense of security from all the "wild" predators out there. Right, like setting up your tent on top os a vehicle would stop an animal that can climb trees

We recently spent 9 days living out of ours, driving around Colorado (and a little bit of Utah). Really comfortable and it goes up really fast (nice when you don't pull into sleep until 10 or 11 at night). It's on a Wild Boar rack, which is very solid with the tent up there.

If you are afraid of snakes a roof top tent just might be a good idea.
