Very common in the rest of the world to refer to ANY automobile as a car.

As a matter of fact... During one of the last couple episodes this season they took a shot at the FJ calling it cartoonish. I think they were looking at a prototype of the new Defender and worrying it was going to turn out badly... like the FJ did.
