The Fiat Panda really is being re-badged as a Jeep. That's not a theory.

Wow, that thing has GOBS of horsepower and torque. I'd drive it only to save on gas, period. Not bad having over 50 MPG.

That's the base engine. They have more powerful engines available.

Not a big fan of the look, but as a replacement for the Compass I think it's fine. If it helps boost the Jeep CAFE so the Wrangler can stay in the mix then it's all good.

If that's the real deal, I think this merger will be a good thing. I don't think Fiat will mess with the Wrangler. They'd have to be really stupid. If additions like the Phoenix are what's coming, I think it's a good thing. Fiat has been building military vehicles for a very long time. They'll get it right.
