Default Restoring discolored soft top material

Alright folks, here's my dilemma. I purchased some used bestop items (duster, safari top and wind jammer) which are in generally good condition, but very discolored and stained. After visiting a few convertible top restoration shops and a few upholstery shops I was told that "SEMS" fabric and vinyl "piant/dye" would work wonders in giving this items a new look. This stuff is sold in spray cans.

...a few shops were leary of this, since the bestop items (and the stock soft top) seem to have a plastic-like finish.

It seems that this stuff (SEMS) allows for flexibility and good color penetration.

My question... any experts out there have experience with this stuff? Advice on any other products that might help me out?

I just used water, soap, and 303 Aerospace Protectant to clean the mud stains from my factory soft-top. I was cleaning the bumpers and the fenders and just thought I'd try it out on the soft top and it did a great job. Not sure if this might have any ill effects in the long term, but has regained its original luster and doesn't stain as easily now.

X2 on the 303. Discovered this from another forum member and used it on my fender flares as well as my top. Restored both to factory look.

I use Simple Green to take the stains out of the soft top and fenders. Wet the top material, spray with Simple Green and scrub with a nylon brush. Follow up with 303 protectant. Has not let me down yet and still looks brand new! Simple Green is the bomb!
