Default Recovery Rope--Strap

Back in the early 70's when I was riding the Beach and Yanking cars and trucks out of the deep Sand I used a 1 1/4 naylon rope, it worked great. Now seems like everyone are using Straps..I notice on a different site they list a 1"Yanker rope with a 33,500 Breaking Strength, and a 2" recovery strap at 17,600 breaking strength. Think I will add the Rope to put in the Rubicon when it gets here.
Thanks Have a safe and great day.

i have 2 straps in my jeep but i think the rope is great also maybe if it breaks it will fly more wildly than a strap but who knows. just be careful when you need to use them

Straps inherently roll up tighter and take less space. What kind of prices were you getting, and length?

Those straps look like what crane operators use to make lifts. They can take some abuse.

I would. If one of those hooks broke or fell off in mid-pull that'd make for a dangerous projectile. If you must use a hook, use a D-shackle.

Also, dont attach straps to ball hitches. A guy was killed here in Des Moines after the ball hitch on the tow vehicle broke. The strap compressed back and sent the ball through his windshield. Struck him in the head and killed him instantly.
