Default Recall for breakline rubbing on wheel well

As any one taken their jk in for this recall yet? My buddy has a 07 unlimited X and he took it in and the replaced his brake line in the front because it showed rub marks and the fix for it was to cut away part of the plastic wheel well where the break line is and it looks like hell and now his brake line is exposed which seems worse. I have a 2011 and don't know if mine is being recalled but I was wonder if anyone else experienced this and what your thoughts are.

Check the thread "They cut my fenders". Sounds like they are butchering the fenders.

Same with mine. I'm pretty sure the tech tossed back a couple cold ones and then had at it with a butter knife!

I need to get mine done. If it wasn't safety related (I like being able to tell it "woo" as well as "go") I'd skip it. How noticeable is it to the person walking by? Also, does it expose anything underneath to more water spray that will help rust get started?

I got mine done at the dealer about a week or two ago on my '08. I asked them prior how they were planning to cut it since so many people had hack jobs done to there fenders. They said they would do it properly and they did. Came out looking shorter as its suppose to but a nice clean cut.

From this and the other thread, it sounds like you need to tell them you're watching before they send it to a mec that doesn't care.

it really is a safety issue...
one of my pipes was showing signs of wear...not good...

i haven't noticed the trim back affecting water movement...
when i dip in the local rivers to 'ford' it goes everywhere anyways ...

I agree. I'll be taking it in and let them know my concern. I'll let people know who the Jacksonville mec's do.
