Default rear seat recline kit. who has done it? is it safe?

First post, ive searched but couldn't find the information I was looking for.

Just had a baby. Wife loves her 2015 Jeep 4d Sahara and doesn't want a "mom car". Newborn car seat is tight to say the least. I want to try the seat recline kit to see if that helps a little. Are these things safe? Last thing I want is to modify the seat and our newborn get injured. I couldn't find anything that had any safety approvals.

I Did my '14 JKU. Seat is still very secure and I recommend. I have put my niece and nephew in without any issues noted. If it makes you feel any better you can add some Loctite blue or red to the bolts for added security.

Not to bash you or anything but I really hope you didn’t pay $60 for that kit. Seriously, that’s about $5 in materials and another 10 minutes to make the parts.

No offense taken. I understand it's cheap material, but I needed it to be exact. Don't have anywhere/any tools to make parts On the road too much for things to go bad.

I've been looking at these too and that's about the going rate for these. Yes they are overpriced for what they are. Hell, I paid $50 for an AEV 3rd brake light relocation kit, but it was exactly what I wanted.
If you have the ability, maybe you could fab some up, if they are a reasonably priced I'd buy a set

I installed one years ago. As an adult sitting in back I think it is just as uncomfortable as before but with a smidge more knee room. For a kid it might be a tad better. The real problem IMO is the angle between the base and the back, and that angle does not change with these kits.
