Default Rear gate rattling!! Anyone??

I got some very aNnOyInG rattling going on from the back of my JK.. I took it to the dealer once and they said it was my rear window shocks. So they replaced them and well...it didn't solve the rattle... I was hoping that someone else has had this problem and new how to fix it.. Sounds like it's coming from the latch of the rear gate IMO... Anyone?

ha! I agree and I can handle the cracks and pops, but this is a pretty loud rattle. Sounds like something might be loose...

Mine was rattling pretty bad. They determined that the latch wasn't adjusted right and made a tweak. It helped but was still doing it occasionally. I haven't noticed it lately but maybe I got used to it!!

My rear stiker plate needed adjusted. Before, it sounded like a whole bunch of loose crap rolling around in the back. Now I just have to deal with my leaky top and wipers that dont work

I had a nice rattle in the rear gate area that turned out to be the spare tire nuts getting a little loose.
They passed the tire shake test but getting out a wrench confirmed it.

I checked it out this weekend and found that it was the black plate below the door latch. I did some adjusting and it hasn't made sound since. I'm going to head up to the dealer to get a new one installed. Thanks guys!

Originally i didnt have a problem with noises but recently i wired my CB and i have been getting noise that quite annoying back there. i think its just the coac cables in the tailgatemaybe though, so what i did was wrap the cable in electrical tape and it seems to of stopped.

Yes my wifes JK had a horrible rattle and the tailgate was out of adjustment from the winter road conditions this winter. Jeep dealership adjusted the door and that helped...not rattle anymore.
