Rear bumper bottom out and Damage
If one was to drop off a ledge and land on the stock rear or even the front bumper, would it cause body damage or just damage the bumper. Has anybody experienced this situation?
Any pictures?
I don't care about thrashing the bumper, but body damage is not too cool.

When the plastic bumper reaches its point of greatest mash and there is still more drop energy then something on the body will probably bend all to heck. Of course this is all speculation, if you find anything out for certain, please feel free to advise the rest of us!

The Rear bumper is totally plastic except for where the bolts screw into it (little metal inserts). It screws through the rear crossmember of the frame, and not the body. Soooo... smashing it wouldn't guarantee body damage, but if it was mashed into the body I'm sure it could dent it or ruin paint in the very least.
Just my 2 cents from what I noticed when removing mine to install my PJ rear.

Naw, since you brought it up, that has now fallen to you. So, imagine if you will, your mission is to go out and stress your rear bumper to the limit and beyond. To go beyond all measure of space and time. To go to where no jeeper has ever been before. The JK rear bumper Twilight Zone.
