Real world mileage 2012 in uniform format.
#31
Can people please post some real world mileage numbers for their JKs. I'm mostly interested in the new 2012 but I don't mind comparing against the older JKs. Please post in following example format:
Type: JKU or JK (Year)
Odometer: xxxxxx (for break in comparison)
Trans: Manual or Auto
Gearing: 3.21 to 4.10 or after market... 4.56+
Tire type & size: BFG KM2 35x12.50
lift size: 2.5" Rock Krawler
If you have anything else special like a 2010 with a RIPP than that would be useful info in the thread to... anything that adds a LOT of weight to your rig would be worth mentioning as well.
I've seen threads that ask for mileage... but it seems most of the posts miss the important info above that can give a better comparison. FYI I don't have a JKU yet... I do have both a CJ5 & YJ... thinking of trading the YJ up for the 5 seater... it would be as follows
Type: JKU 2012
Trans: Manual (If wife lets me get away with it LOL)
Gearing: 4.10 might regear... depends on 6th gear usability
Tire: Undecided... leaning to BFG
lift size: 2.5" or 3.5" Rock Krawler
Type: JKU or JK (Year)
Odometer: xxxxxx (for break in comparison)

Gearing: 3.21 to 4.10 or after market... 4.56+

Type: 2011 JKU Rubicon
Odometer: 3,775 miles
Trans: Auto
Gearing: Yukon 5.38
Tire type & size: BFG KM2 35x12.50x17
lift size: 2.5" Rubicon Express and TF Leveling Kit
extra mods include: Dynomax Exhaust, Airaid CAI and AEV Procal
MPG's around town are about 14 and hwy are 16 but that also includes all the hills/mountains of CO which I dont think is all that bad. I'm running 70 mph at 2700 rpms also.

2012 JKU
3700 miles
4:10
auto
4 inch lift
35's
ARB bumpers and winch.
13.5 to 14 back and forth 25 miles on country hwy to work each day.
Mileage sucks in my opinion. I guess I expected more. My 3.8 did better.

Type: 2012 JKU Rubicon
Odometer: 1000ish
Trans: 6-Speed Manual
Gearing: 4.10
Tire type & size: Nitto Trail Grapplers 285/70 R17
lift size: None
MPG: 13.5 by paper and 13.9 per the computer
Driving is mixed highway and city. Gas millage is worse than my 2009 automatic. I expected better than this, at least 15-16 mixed.

Bump... been a while since any reports were given on this. I know we have some 2012s out there now that have a decent motor break in... what miles are you getting now?
PS. I just ordered my JKU RUBI, don't have a delivery date just yet... waiting is torture.

Odometer: 8000
Trans: Manual
Gearing: 3.73
Tire type & size: Stock 255/75/17 SRA's
17mpg in town, 22-23mpg for 60mph, 19-20mpg for 70+mph. (numbers from dash).
Calculated, I'm averaging 19 with 30% city 70% hwy.
Top down, take off about 2 mpg for hwy.

Currently about 18mpg of mixed driving.
From 1~1800 miles on odometer it was 14mpg of same mixed driving.
Im very happy the MPG improved after a couple thousand miles.
