I don't think I'd wanna go to a smaller tire though. Wouldn't a smaller tire cause my rpm's to go up and then give me worse mileage?

Unless they're significantly lighter, tire tread is NOT going to affect mpg on a JK. The wind resistance is going to negate your effort. JK's just don't coast, that's all there is to it. Keep the mud terrains and keep the rubi a rubi!!!!
