It's got a 3yr warranty which is nice but the smittybilt has a lifetime mechanical and 5yr warranty on electrical. In your $500 price range, it would be hard to beat. Another one worth looking at is the quadratec.
Aside from warranty, you'll also want to look at the weight on any accessory you purchase. The cheaper ones (harbor freight) weigh a ton. Synthetic will save you some weight but it isn't as astronomical of an amount like you'd be lead yup believe. The housings can vary by 40+/- pounds. You could have two steel winch cables and then some at that weight.
That being said- no, I have no experience with that winch. I bought an open box winch from Xtreme Terrain, their barricade brand because it was cheaper, weighed less, and was available quicker than the other brands I checked out.
