Default Protecting my new synthetic winch rope

Just purchased the Runva 11xp with synthetic rope. Never used synthetic before and just a little concerned about fraying/abrasion and UV exposure...especially on the hook end. If the rope frays up a little somewhere in the line or I want to give a little extra protection on the end from abrasion or UV, do you think it would work just wrapping some hockey tape around the rope? It comes in many colors too, so I could use a matching color. Not sure if it's really necesary, but just an idea...seems a little nicer than electrical tape.

Here's the winch...

if you have a garage to park in, that will do wonders to keeping your line in good shape.

Sounds like a good idea as long as you don't get a loose end that tangles the line

No, I don't have a garage, I live in a condo and my jeep sits outside all year round. The winch comes with a cover though...

Actually, I done something similar before on a different project and just put a tiny dab of super glue at the end of the hockey tape and it worked great for keeping it from unravelling, so that's not a problem.

Just use the cover. That is what it is for. I keep mine covered and the line looks brand new
