Default Prices paid?

I have a 2012 JKUR with 16,000 miles. I'm contemplating trading in on a new Hard Rock. What are people paying on these? Any chance to get under invoice?

Have you tried to sell your jeep? Would think a 12 jkur with 16k would be a hot commodity.

I haven't gotten that far yet. Just starting to kick it around.

There is a chance to get under invoice. Get a Costco card then use the Costco auto program. Around here price for a JK is 500 under invoice. No negotiations needed. Price is already set.

The price of the hard rock will not fluctuate much, where you can lose out is on how much you get for your 12 with 16k on it, it held its value as long as you did not beat it up, so make sure you get what it is worth.

Tread lightly will get you 1% below factory invoice once you've been a member for at least a month (@$100 or more). You can negotiate better but right now dealers can't keep the Hard Rocks in stock so I don't think they will be too eager to work a steal of a deal with you.

With all your mods I would hope you're going to take your JK back to stock before selling or trading unless you're going to hold on to it too.

I don't have a Hard Rock, but I do have a 14 JKURX which is the same thing as the HR, just one year earlier. I was able to get it 3% under invoice and I ordered it. What I did was work with three dealers. The best offer I got from the first 2 was 2% below so I went to the third and they beat the best offer. I went in saying exactly what I wanted to order and said I wanted to get better than 2% below invoice and voila, I got what I asked for.

As far as trading in versus selling outright, if it was me I would attempt to sell privately first especially if the 12 is modded. The mods don't really add any value to the Jeep, but you may find someone willing to pay a bit more than blue book if it has the right mods they are looking for. If it's still completely stock, trading it in may be an okay option depending on what they offer you for it.

You may also want to check with Jeep to see if your employer (assuming you not self employed) gets any kind of discounts. I've bought two JKU's and got both for 1% below invoice (no haggling) all because I mentioned who I worked for.

X2 on the 2012, just sold mine for 26.5k with 57k miles. That's only $200 less than I paid for it back in Aug. '11. Sure I lost out on the mods I invested but I as happy with the deal.
