sorry to hear about the accident! Glad nobody is hurt too bad. I can't stand careless drivers. That lady should have been drug out of her car by the cops and flogged with a knightstick is the way I feel about it. Hope they can get your Jeep fixed or replaced quickly!

You would think that people living in such climates would eventually figure out that one, it is slippery and two, the driver needs to pay attention. I see the same crap here in Maine. Especially the 4x4 trucks and SUV's. Oh, it's four wheel drive so I can do whatever. Even the Govenor was in a bad winter crash because his idiot driver was speeding and passing and totaled the tax payer supplied SUV. I had the tail destroyed on a new Explorer Limited by one of those ahole drivers.
Glad all of you got out OK.
Glad all of you got out OK.
That is a common problem with many people with 4x4s who get them...they think that having 4x4 makes them immune to problems mere mortals with 2 wheels driven experience on snow and ice. They think that flipping the lever to 4hi magically makes their vehicle of maintaining freeway speeds on solid ice and snow. They further think that somehow 4wd will help them stop better on snow and ice.
Men and women both...does not seem to be any shortage of them come every winter around here....usually in the Crapolet Trailblazer ZR1 gravel road package, or Ford Exploders, but see some Jeep Grand Cherokees, as well as more and more of just about every clone from the foreign companies....all of which seem to love to make great commercials showing their vehicles drving through winter conditions like they were on dry pavement....all the while noting at the bottom of the screen in text so small you need binoculars on a 72" widescreen to read about it being on a closed course with a professional driver, blah, blah, blah....and people of course seem to drive like their believe it.
But back on topic to the OP....glad to hear that everyone in the Jeep was fine....hopefully the insurance company will do right by you....don't be afraid to be assertive in what YOU want to happen as well....if the damages are enough, ASK for a new Jeep.

Sorry to hear that your Mom required medical attention... as the days drag on, I hope that she doesn't have a reoccurence of pain - and ditto for you, I'm hoping that you didn't suffer a "soft tissue injury" because those suck, and drag on for years (I've been there).
While I don't advocate frivolous lawsuits, I would be sure to sue for any pain and suffering that you end up with as a result of her negligence; it sounds like a pretty open-and-shut case, and a legitimate one at that. Hope all goes well, and keep us posted.

Sorry to hear about the crash, glad to see that nobody was seriously hurt. I agree 100% with MLS_Jeep_888. Especially if you or your mom have pain for more than a few days. And get a new jeep, that will never be the same. I've had a pain in my neck ever since I got married, I mean since I got t-boned on my Harley. I wish I could have got something, but the guy was an illegal immigrant; I couldn't have got more than some beans and rice.

Sorry that you got hit, but glad everyone is OK. I agree with MJS jeep 888, let them pay for everything and a little bit more. Following to close is so easy to avoid, people need to start paying for thier stupidity. Again Glad it wasn't worse.

Just a quick update for everyone.....
I called my mom and sister today, they are both in some pain ...my poor mom is in her late 50's and could barely get out of bed this morning
I spoke to the police officer that took the report....get this....the lady says I cut her off and slammed on my brakes! LOL. Too bad for her that I had witnesses who stopped at the scene and said otherwise. Thank god they decided to give statements, otherwise it may have been a different story. The officer even told my that all the evidence and statements proove that I was completely stopped when she hit me. Even the gentleman that I was pushed into said he watched the whole thing in his rearview and I was stopped!
As far as if she was on the phone, I'm not sure....although I'm sure she wouldn't admit to it if she was. I was prescribed some muscle relaxors from the doctor today, but apparently they make you very sleepy...hopefully I don't sleep through my entire vacation
To the person asking where it happened....it was on the I290 westbound near two mile creek overpass (thats what the police report says).
Thanks for the kind words and thoughts from everyone, it really means a lot....I will continue to keep you updated...if I don't fall asleep with my meds....LOL

It's sad to hear that this inattentive, selfish b*tch is unwilling to accept that she's at fault, and instead is choosing to lie about it. Well, you know what? That settles things! You need to take that b*tch to the cleaners!
I need to mention that I'm not a big fan of lawyers, but they DO serve their purpose. Most lawyers I know are immoral, cut-throat sharks... but that's exactly the type of person you need to represent you in this situation (unfortunately, that's the way our system works nowadays).
First, take care of yourself and your family. Get yourself treated and as comfortable as you can, in the short-term. Then, get yourself a good attorney, and try to negotiate them down to a 25% cut (33% is the standard, at least in my area). Your lawyer will help to set you up with good doctors that they've worked with or heard good things about in the past, and you can even arrange to have all your medical receipts sent to the lawyer. In some cases, you can even get the lawyer to work with the doctors to set up a consignment arrangement, where your doctors don't get paid until you receive money consignThey'll track things for you, and keep tabs on your overall medical expenses. Then, when the time comes that you're as healed as you're going to be, get an assessment by a qualified medical doctor, and see if you're fully recovered, or if you're permanently injured in some capacity.
Either way, this b*tch is going to pay through the nose, and deservedly so! Sorry to hear about this whole situation. For your sake, and for your family's, I hope that you heal up real quick, and completely. Take it easy, and try not to stress out over the whole situation.
