Default Is it possible? 17" stock rims on 35 nitto trail grapplers? If so..

Hello guys & ladies!

I am new to this, but was seeking for some feedback from the experienced jeep lovers.

I have an unlimited x wrangler 08 and I am wanting to keep my 17" stock rims and purchase 35's nitto trail grapplers. My main concern and inquiry is of which exact measurements will I need for the tires.

(I keep reading that spacers are a must, so I have that down on my purchase check list)

For example, when I go look at discount tire all these measurements come up for size 17:

LT255 /75 R17 111Q C1 BSW
LT265 /70 R17 121Q E1 BSW
LT285 /70 R17 121Q E1 BSW
LT285 /75 R17 121Q E1 BSW
LT295 /70 R17 121P E1 BSW
LT315 /70 R17 121Q D2 BSW
35 /12.50R17 121Q E2 BSW
37 /12.50R17 124Q D2 BSW
40 /13.50R17 121P C2 BSW

Which would be the correct ones I am needing?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

1st number is the diameter, second is the width, third is the wheel size. Factory tires are narrow and 30-32" tall. When moving to a bigger wider tire you need wheels with lower back spacing or wheel adapters to push the tires away from the jeep so they don't rub on stuff when you turn the wheel. Check the stickies as it is explained there. if you want 35" tires then you would be looking at 35/12.5R17 or the metric size LT315/70R17

On a tire like a 295/70r17 the first number is the width and the second number is the distance from the lip of the rim to the tred and the third number is of corse the rim diameter. I put the 295/70r17 trail grapplers on my stock rims and they rubbed on the sway bar when I fully locked the wheels. So 35s would give you the same thing. I would recommend saving up for some rims and then go for some 35s for sure. I've never been a fan of wheel spacers just because in the back of my head I would always be wondering if they are still on tight or not. + they will throw off your alignment where as an offset rim with less backspace will not.
Hope this helps

If you do decide on spacers and you wanted to go for 35s I would just say that the 35x12.5r17 tires are built to fit an 8.5 - 11in wide rim and work best on a 10in wide rim.
DO YOU HAVE A LIFT?
Because if not I have heard the the 35s can rub on the fender flares from time to time

My main problem here is that I am extremely picky with rims and their designs, I just like the classic stock rim jeep look, so I want that with the trail grapplers. I was not aware of the alignment issue, thank you for the heads up!

Yeah I get what you mean with the rim thing. I can't stand 90% of the wheels that are out there. I finally went for some Mickey Thompson side biter 2's
