Default Poll: would you buy a Wranlger with a Honda 3.5 Vtec Diesel

Would you buy a wrangler with a Honda Diesel motor?
It is not that out odd,,,,GM used Honda engines in Saturn Vue.

Honda is workign on a 3.5 diesel for Pilots and Ridglines.

if you had the choise of a 3.8 Chrysler Gas or 3.5 Honda Diesel ...which would you chose?

I would want to test drive the diesel but have been wanting a new 4 door with a CRD for years and will probably jump on the first one they make regardless of who makes the engine (although my vote would go to MB or Cummins)

honda all the way imo

there diesels are really torque-y and pull like trains and are very very good on fuel

a friend has a CRV and HRV and they are both similare kerb weights to the JK and they get a consistent 45mpg around town and nearer 55mpg on the motorways

best of both worlds imo

Honda all the way. I'd do that conversion if possible in a heart beat.

Why not, if it provided reasonable HP/torque/economy numbers.

A 3.5L diesel has got to be a beast, right? Heck the 3.0 in the GC makes 376ft/lbs of torque.

I'd love to see a diesel in the JK, but it ain't gonna happen before I get mine so I hope it's a couple of years so I can talk the wifey into gettin' one for her.

I don't really care if you think it doesn't suck. I think they do and I will NEVER buy one or anything associated to it.
