I saw the numbers they say the new engine will give the JK 260 ft-lbs of torque and 290 horse power compared to our 202 hp with 237 ft-lbs of torque with our current engines.
Will it be a really big difference? I heard two more miles per gallon but I test drove the new cherokee with that engine and I really wasn't impressed

Don't forget, those numbers are in the top portion of the rpm range. How often do you operate the Jeep at those rpm's?
A better comparison would be to look at the dyno charts, and look at the area where you usually run the engine.
