It would be nice if they provided more information on some of the alterations such as the rack and snorkel.
Here's what the site lists:

Special Swimming Tires
Following the specifications of the company EXTREM EVENTS, it was a challenge to develop the original 17 GOODYEAR tires for the use in the Bering Strait and to redesign the road treat. Certainly the GOODYEAR tires offer an excellent basis for the new development and redesign of the road treat for this use.
From experience with other projects which have not had nearly as high demands we are able to true tires in all dimensions up to a diameter of 1.10 meters and to design them according to our customers unique requirements. In cooperation with the University of Munich, Prof. Gerhard Barich, the low temperature performance of the thermo elastic tire tread compound has been tested in temperatures as low as -55° to -60° Celsius. Afterwards it was imperative to design a tire tread which guarantees a high water displacement and enough grip for the drive on ice and snow.
Exceptional paths require exceptional means, and on this note it came after several calculations and drafts which were either optimal for the water displacement or the grip on ice and snow to the realized result which completes both standards.
First tests with an original GOODYEAR tire 40 mm immersion into water showed a water displacement of 35 36 sec.
The redevelopment displaced the exact same amount by identical depth of immersion in 15 16 sec.
We named this tire tread: IMMLER EXTREM ICE-WATERGRIP
