Opinuon Question (am I getting to greedy)
I am pretty new to the forums but I think a couple of you are familiar with my situation. I was always a luxury sedan guy, but am making the switch to a jeep unlimited. I have always wanted a jeep and have just realized now is the time to do it. Plus its a vehicle you can keep for years and years with out much body styling changes, so when I am ready for luxury again I will keep the jeep as my second vehicle. Anyways, the dealership said they could get me in a black unlimited s (i need the power windows and locks) with dual tops and tow hitch for 29,200 plus I will be buying/installing all my aftermarket stuff through them. New Metal front/rear bumpers (mopar) side rocker sliders (mopar) 4" suspension lift (mopar) XD hoss wheels nitto grapler tires/tire pressure sensors etc...for 5900 installed through the dealership. I had to take time to sell my acura tsx and wasn't getting quite what i wanted for it (ended up selling it for 12300) and i dont want to finance more than 20k so i was trying to find a way to get the base price of the vehicle down. I found that a sister dealership had a black hardtop mountain edition with all of my options marked down to 28k(because they cant get the mountain editions sold) and they said they could remove all the decals from the vehicle (both mountain badges and the matte black hood decal. This morning i got a dealership email saying there summer/model yr end clearance is beginning this week as the 2011's are hitting production. ok sorry for all the BLABBER here is the real q.
The dealership has been really good at being patient (which obviously they should be) and not trying to force me into anything which is why they have completely won over my (and my fathers) business. Is it to greedy to expect them to knock some more off the price of the mountant considering the origional mark down was before the model yr end clearance, and between both dealerships they have over 45 wranglers (25 unlimiteds) to get rid of? And if so, how much of a drop should I be expecting to see on the cost of the mountain? Keep in mind I will also be putting about 17k down in cash on the vehicle. This is my first time ever buying a brand new vehicle so I wanted some opinions. Thanks guys and gals

Following up on Planman's thoughts, consider doing the aftermarket gear installs yourself. You'll save a ton of money (especially over the dealership). Also, even if you want to use the Mopar upgrade parts and patronize your dealer (that can win you bonus points if you have problems down the road), don't be afraid to find the best prices online for the parts, then go to the parts department/your salesman and ask them if they'll price match. Finally, if you don't have the experience/tools for the installs, ask around. There are many, many folks on this forum who chime in when asked if anyone can help a newbie with installs. For that purpose, it's helpful if you say where you live on your profile (city and state).

Look at what parts youre getting first. Drive it stock and browse the forums, northridge, quadratec, 4wd, ect. You WILL find parts you like more then the mopar bumpers. The mopar lift is just a Rubicon Express lift that is marked WAAYYY up.
Dont hit the mods too hard too fast especially if your new to the 4x4/offroad communities.

they are giving me the xd hoss wheels and tires at cost. I am going to be honest guys I am not planning on doing a huge amount of intense off-roading, lots of beach trips...little off roading, lots of backtrail snowboarding. MY reason for going through the dealer for the most part, is all of there installed products will be covered under warranty by the dealership. All the math I have done out and talking to a couple of shops around me, I will be paying about 300 more than bottom dollar including install, and having it all covered under warranty.

if you do a little searching on here you will find that most of the stuff you mentioned will not be covered by warrenty. any part they sell with a p in it is performance only. like others have stated just buy the jeep and then do the mods if you can. i paid invoice and ordered my jeep, i would have paid 2% less if it was sitting on there lot. there is alot of hold back money on these jeeps from chrystler to the dealer. my rubi was 36+ and i paid just shy of 32k (tax title and dealer fees). good luck and welcome.
if you call ******* dealer in arizona they will cut you a deal if your dealer won't and have it shipped to your dealer for pickup.

Hey thanks a ton cody, I did do some reading but I have seen it in paper and writing that Herb Chambers of milbury fully warranties all mopar products purchased and installed through there dealership, so obviously the after market wheels and tires won't be covered but thats not something I am worried about.
