Default Opinions wanted...

I have a BDS 3" lift on my '08 2 dr. Rubi, I did not go with the control arms, just springs, shocks, and related usual hardware...
Now for you're opinions...
Should I spend for the flex arms for the 3" lift now, or should I save my $$$ and go with a 4" long arm system later ( maybe next spring ) and just wheel with it the way it is until I can afford the 4" long arm.
I really want my jeep to be at it's best, I drive it almost every day, and wheel with it whenever I can.
I have the $$$ for the flex arms to go with the current lift, but not sure if thats the way I want to go...
Help me make up my ever changing mind...
Thanks...

If you plan on going long arm in the future, why don't you go long arm now with a 3" lift. I know RE and many other sell all their component seperately. All long arms that I know of are adjustable and should be able to accomodate a 3" lift. Why spend the money twice?

Why not just do a Long Arm upgrade? That way you save some $ by not replacing the coils/shocks and smaller parts. http://www.teraflex.biz/products/eli...-brackets.html

mainly material costs.

however i am an engineer and understand the hours of work that go into pre-production, and production manufacturing cost. i'm also in no way saying that it's not an awesome product. i just think that under production line assembly is seams a bit high to me.

No worries. I get that alot from guys who can fab stuff themselves. There seems to be alot of them here in Utah.

Ok guys.. answer me this...
What is the biggest benefit to runing a long arm set up opposed to just the regular flex arms? Is it mainly the articulation you get or is there more to it???
Bare with me, I'm trying to learn this stuff as I go... and don't want to spend hard earned $$$ on something I really don't need...
Thanks...

The higher the lift the more the axle end of the control is point towards the ground. Thus causing ride quality and handling to suffer. You want the control arms to be as parallel with the frame/ground as possible. Compare it to walking on your tippy toes vs. normal. You have better control walking flatfooted than on your tippy toes. Ballet dancers are not part of this comparision either.
