About ready to pull the trigger on a set of 16" wheels for the JK. Wife wants black, I dont. She wants more wheel, I want more sidewall. I WILL win that part. But in the end she thinks the Jeep is hers, and is the primary driver, so I will consider her input.......

Here is the Jeep
and the two wheel choices. The Nomad is from summit (16x8 4.875" BS) and is my choice. The Helo is the 842 (16x8 4.5" BS)and is her choice.

Plan to wrap them in a set of 285/75R16 BFG's for the interim, then a set of 315/75R16 somethin-or-others. Not looking for a heated debate, and anyone with some mad skilz on the PhotoChop is welcome to try it.

 

well, im partial to black since thats what i have. both are good looking rims. if you are going to wheel it offroad, then i would go with black, but thats my opinion, im just not into the chrome or shiny stuff thats all.

maybe a compromise of the rim she wants but the finish and size you want or the rim and size you want and the finish she wants. i would judge them from praticality. personally i would stick with the 16 eaither way u go if you want to offroad but if its more for street then maybe the size she wants and color you want, but please tell me she does not want 20s

 

Definately going to be a 16" wheel. My choice is a clearcoated machined finish with grey cleared insets. So not really anything shiny about it. And no, she doesn't want 20's, just stay with the 18's. To bad she won't go for spacers and some 285/75R18 Toyo MT's. Thats what I'd rather do.

 

X2 on the black wheel....I think the silver looks perfect with the black! I also agree on the 16", of course I am partial as I am running that size!

 

cant go wrong with either but black with look tougher. If your not dead set on those wheels check out Mamba they make amazing black and silver wheels (i went with the m3's LOVE THEM)

 

I like the look of the Nomad personally but both will look good and who knows, maybe you can get something good from allowing your wife to choose.

Although I like black to the extent I think the JK looks best in black, I am going to go against the current and pick the gray Nomads. To me, black is the white of the new millennium. They just don't have the twin color pinstripes around the lip.

IMO a medium gray or silver looks with machined aluminum highlights. The styling and color similar to the Argent AEV Pintlers which I think would look even better with a machined lip.

Either way, good luck with your choice but it may be a wise choice to go with the black Helo's.

Thanks for the opinions, we'll see what the taxes look like and if I get a binus or not. I still like the nomads, they are different. I bet there are 20+ JK's in town with black wheels.
